Manny Padilla
Professor Manny Padilla is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under Professor Fabiano Scherner. Professor Manny was born in Oakland, California but has lived in Oregon most of his life. He was raised in Sandy, Oregon, which is where he began wrestling at age 11 and through high school.
After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. After 4 years in the service, he was honorably discharged and moved back to Portland where he started training in Mixed Martial Arts and Jiu Jitsu. After almost a decade of grappling No-Gi at Team Quest, Professor Manny decided to start training in the Gi under Professor Fabiano. After 7 years training in the Gi, he received his black belt.
Throughout his Jiu Jitsu career, Professor Manny has been in the competitive circuit and he still actively competes in Gi and No-Gi tournaments. In 2016, he competed in the Pan-Ams as a purple belt taking second place in his division and third in the open class. Determined to win one of the biggest tournaments in the world, he returned in 2018 where he won Gold as a purple belt at Ultra Heavy Weight.
